Overview

Located in the state of Yucatan in southern Mexico, the is home to just under 17,000 undergraduate students and nearly 700 postgraduate students.
UADY offers a range of courses, including 45 bachelor’s degrees, 23 master's programs and eight PhDs in the following subject areas:

The is spread out across five campuses and comprises 15 faculties, three senior high schools, an interdisciplinary unit in Tizimín and a research center devoted to the study of tropical diseases.

students enjoy world-class facilities, such as highly specialized labs, including a sensory analysis lab, a dietology lab and a chemical engineering lab, and unlimited access to a number of well-stocked departmental, high school and interdisciplinary libraries with over 32,000 books, nearly 50,000 magazines and over 1,000 journals.

Every year, the receives around 200 students from around the world, including Brazil, Argentina, Spain, the United States, Japan, France and Germany. 

To ensure students remain happy and healthy, the Student Attention Center helps international students register with their local doctor and offers free nutritional guidance, including consultations, assessments and food plans adapted to the needs of each student.

The university does not have dorms, but maintains a vast network of host families in Mexico who are able to offer room and board to international students. Guidance is also available to students seeking to rent a flat during their stay.

As well as taking part in Model United Nations at the UN headquarters in New York, where students from around the world meet for a summit every year to discuss and resolve vital challenges, UADY runs cultural and volunteering events for students to get involved and soak up local culture.

Every year, for example, the university’s central courtyard, which dates back to the 16th century, hosts the Ballet Folklorico, a stunning student ensemble of Mexican dances performed in traditional costumes.
