Founded
in 1956, the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) is
a research-intensive university located in Chengdu, China, which is ranked in
the top 100 of the QS University Content: BRICS 2016. Originally founded as
the Chengdu Institute of Radio Engineering, the university was named one of
China’s National Key Institutes by the Higher Education Ministry of the State
in 1960. It has an enrollment of over 31,000 students, with 3,000 faculty
members.
The
university offers a range of scholarships for students from the US, European
Union and beyond, including bilateral exchange scholarships and scholarships
for new graduate students. UESTC also offers English-taught programs, which
have a slightly higher tuition fee than Chinese-taught programs.
