Overview

Established in 1890, the University of Chicago (also known as UChicago) is a private research university with 15,365 students. It’s currently ranked 10th in the world according to the QS World University Content®, making it the fifth highest-ranked university in the US. The university has many prominent alumni, including 13 billionaires and 51 Rhodes scholars.

UChicago has been at the forefront of many scientific breakthroughs, and operates more than 140 on-campus research centers, as well as off-campus affiliated research institutes such as the Argonne National Laboratory. UChicago is also home to the largest university printing press in the US.
